Requirements for Membership

DISCLAIMER: All applicants to the NNN network are individually vetted in order to ensure the quality and integrity of the network. Failure to meet the below criteria will result in either a denial of your applicaiton to join or a termination of your NNN account after approved. 

 

Non-Profits, Non-Government, Government, Philanthropic Group, Philanthropic Support Group.

  1. Organization must have activities in Nicaragua. – Organization must have or anticipate activities within the country of Nicaragua, or may be a support entity for aid workers within Nicaragua.
  2. Organization may use NNN site solely for Nicaragua aid projects - Organizations can have additional work or projects outside of Nicaragua, or have staff that lives outside of Nicaragua, but the NNN site is to be used for the purpose of supporting Nicaragua aid projects. For example, an NGO cannot use the NNN site to support projects in another country even if it is the same personnel. If interested in setting up a site similar to the NNN site but for a different country, please contact the NNN project director. Organizations that use the NNN for networking outside of the country of Nicaragua may have their membership terminated. 
  3. Organization must be a recognized entity – Organizations must be a recognized non-profit/NGO, government body, grouping of individual volunteers or otherwise philanthropic group. NNN members utilizing the NNN for private interests, including highly-personalized or unprofessional individual functions, will have their membership terminated. Organization may be a support group for an NGO i.e. legal, donors, researchers, volunteer organizations, etc, but may not conduct private-interest business on the NNN platform.
  4. Organizations may only have one NNN profile – Organizations may not have multiple similar profiles/memberships with the NNN. Individuals CAN have the admin functionality over multiple organizational profiles, in addition to their own individual volunteer profile, but redundant organizational profiles will be deleted.  
  5. Organizations must have a designated representative for NNN profile admin – Organizations must have a designated representative that will act as liaison to the NNN and be the Organizational admin. This liaison’s role is to keep their NNN site updated and active.  It is better if this is the role of a single representative rather than that of multiple personnel. Profiles that remain dormant or inactive for an extended period of time may be deleted.
  6. Organizations may not use the NNN platform to solicit or buy/sell goods - Organizations may promote their work, but may not solicit other orgainzations using the NNN platform as a medium to do so.  NNN member organizations may not buy or sell any goods through the NNN site. 
  7. Stick to the code, be nice, serve the community - All member organizations must abide to the Code of Ethics put forth by the NNN. Failure to abide by the code or to act in an otherwise hurtful or unprofessional manner on the NNN platform may result in termination of one’s profile.

Individual Volunteers, Anyone working in aid, anticipating working in aid, or wanting to work in aid within the country of Nicaragua

  1. Individual must have activities in Nicaragua or wish to work in Nicaragua. – Individual applicant must have or anticipate activities within the country of Nicaragua, or may be a support entity for aid workers within Nicaragua.
  2. Individual may not use NNN site for networking outside of the country of Nicaragua - Individuals can have additional work or projects outside of Nicaragua, or live outside of Nicaragua, but cannot use the NNN site for networking purposes outside of Nicaragua. Individuals that use the NNN for networking outside of the country of Nicaragua will have their membership terminated.
  3. Individuals may only have one NNN profile – Individual profiles may be affiliated with or the admin of multiple organizational profiles, but individuals may not generate more than one individual profile. Multiple individual volunteer profiles will be deleted.
  4. Individuals must remain relatively active – Individuals must show activity in their NNN profile. Profiles that remain dormant or inactive for an extended period of time may be deleted.
  5. Individuals must stick to the code, be nice, serve the community - All individuals must abide to the Code of Ethics put forth by the NNN. Failure to abide by the code or to act in an otherwise hurtful or unprofessional manner on the NNN platform may result in termination of one’s profile.
