Mission

My name is Nicole Levesque and I am currently a senior at Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts. I am working on a Senior Honors Thesis through the Department of Political Science & International Studies, and I am looking at NGOs in Nicaragua. My goal is to learn about NGO efforts in Nicaragua. In particular, I want to study how NGOs learn and become more effective at achieving their goals. I would like to look at different kinds of organizations and their efforts to develop communities and reduce poverty. This will be a comparative, qualitative study that will serve as a preliminary effort to see if there is an opportunity to do a larger, more intensive study. I would ideally like to connect with 12 organizations to learn about how they determine their goals, select projects to undertake, and evaluate their own success in order to improve their outcomes. I want to collect annual reports, any data that your organizations are willing to provide, and stories of particularly successful projects or outcomes. I do not intend to publish any names of project participants or the names of individuals or organizations. I would greatly appreciate any information or advice that you would be willing to provide. It would be incredibly valuable for my project. Thank you!

What We're About

I visited Chacraseca, Nicaragua through FNE International in the summer of 2016. My group worked with Michael Cipoletti and participated in some of the community development projects that he and FNE International undertake in the community. My aid interests are community development, human development, and women's empowerment. I am hoping to pursue post-graduate service in the upcoming year.
